Tips for Getting Ahead
Saturday:
Print out all the recipes for the week. Click on the link provided and add all the groceries to your cart.
Look through the meal plan table at the items provided in the cart and the presumed ingredients. If you do not have a pantry item, make sure to add it to your cart.
Add any other groceries to your online cart that you need for the week (cereal, bread, milk, etc). Schedule a time to pick up your groceries tomorrow or have them delivered.
Read through the recipes and the “Getting Ahead Tips” to prepare for the week.
Sunday:
Chop and wash romaine lettuce for salads this week. I love to store mine in my salad spinner!
If desired cut up ingredients for salad and store in container in the fridge labeled “Tuesday” (cucumbers, tomatoes, olives)
Chop onion and garlic for beef stroganoff. Cut beef into chunks if ground beef wasn’t available at your store. Freeze beef for the stroganoff. If desired, you can add the mushroom soup, onions and soup mix to the freezer bag also.
Butterfly all chicken breasts and turn one breast into two! Chicken breasts have been huge lately.
Take 3-4 of the butterflied breasts and freeze for Thursday’s dinner.
Make the seasoning mix for the chicken on Thursday’s dinner. You can store it in the fridge until Thursday (we just used regular pepper instead of white pepper).
Tuesday:
Consider taking the beef stroganoff out of the freezer in the morning to give it a little extra time to thaw.
In the evening follow the beef stroganoff directions and load the crockpot for dinner tomorrow. *Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to start the crockpot in the morning.
Wednesday:
Tomorrow’s recipe says from frozen, but I took the chicken out of the freezer today to give them time to thaw just a little. We LOVED the marinade for the chicken in this dish!
