Tips for Getting Ahead
Saturday:
Print out all the recipes for the week.
Click on the link provided and add all the groceries to your cart.
Look through the meal plan table at the ingredients provided in the cart and the presumed ingredients. If you do not have a pantry item, make sure to add it to your cart.
Add any other groceries to your online cart that you need for the week (cereal, bread, milk, etc).
Schedule a time to pick up your groceries or have them delivered.
Read through the recipes and the “Tips for Getting Ahead” to prepare for the week.
Sunday:
Follow the directions to load the crockpot for Crack Chicken which will serve for Monday and Wednesday evening dinner. The ingredients for Monday were doubled so there is enough for Wednesday.
Set an alarm for Monday morning to start the crockpot.
Cook the two pounds of ground beef (one pound for Thursday and one pound for Friday). Freeze in two separate labeled containers in the freezer.
Slice all salad ingredients (reserve two cups shredded romaine for taco pizza Thursday).
Trim sugar snap peas and store in the refrigerator until Friday’s dinner.
Monday:
Make marinade for tomorrow’s grilled chicken breasts. Slice chicken in half (butterfly) and place chicken breasts in marinade in a labeled container for tomorrow’s dinner.
Shuck corn and wrap in aluminum foil for tomorrow’s dinner. Place in the refrigerator.
Tuesday:
While cutting the cucumber for tonight’s dinner, cut the additional cucumbers and make the cucumber with vinegar recipe and store in the fridge overnight.
Wednesday:
Take out the cooked ground beef for tomorrow's taco pizza.
Thursday:
Take out cooked ground beef for tomorrow’s calzones.
