The Cheeseball
Ingredients:
2 - 8oz packages Cream Cheese, softened
4-6 Green Onions
2 packages Dried Beef *
3 tbsp Mayonnaise
2-3 dashes Worcestershire Sauce
1/8 tsp Garlic Salt
Instructions:
Chop the dried beef using a food processor. Reserve a little less than half for covering the cheeseball.
Chop the green onions into 1-inch pieces and add to the food processor and pulse a few times to break them down.
Add cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic salt and pulse to combine.
Line a bowl with plastic wrap. Scrape into plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
Roll cheeseball in reserved dried beef.
Serve with crackers (Club are a favorite!)
*Dried beef should be with the lunchmeat in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I can’t always find it there, sometimes you can find it in a jar by the canned meat.
Add dried beef to the food processor and chop it into bits. You’re going to reserve half for rolling the finished cheeseball and half will go into the cheeseball itself.
I take out all of the dried beef and chop up the green onions.
Add back half of the chopped dried beef and the rest of the ingredients.
Run the food processor to combine all of the ingredients. In the beginning, you will see a big blob of cream cheese spinning around. It’s well mixed when you no longer see this.
Pull out the blade and give it all a good mix, scraping down the sides.
To shape the cheeseball, I line a bowl with plastic wrap and scrape the mixture into the bowl.
Use the plastic wrap to shape the mixture into a rough ball shape and put it in the refrigerator to chill for a couple of hours.
Ready to chill.
Once it’s chilled enough to maintain its shape, drop it into the reserved chopped dried beef and completely cover the cheeseball.
Serve with crackers of your choice!
