Restaurant-Style Salsa
Ingredients:
1 1/2 tbsp Cilantro, chopped
1 medium White Onion, diced
2 - 28oz cans Whole Peeled Tomatoes (with juices)
6 pickled Jalapeno Slices
3/4 jar of Pace Picante Sauce
1 tsp Oregano
1/16 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
2 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions:
Hand crush or chop whole peeled tomatoes in a food processor to your desired consistency. Combine all ingredients. Tada! You’re done!
But it gets better the longer it sits, so make ahead and let it hang out in the fridge for a few hours. Serve with tortilla chips.
Ok, we get it, it’s a little strange to make salsa using jarred picante sauce. But that’s the recipe and it’s delicious. You are welcome to adjust and make it your own! I often leave out the picante sauce and just add some vinegar or lime juice to add some acidity. I also loooove cilantro, so I add a ton. Got that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap? Leave it out! Like it extra spicy? Add more red pepper flakes! You get the idea.
