Tips for Getting Ahead
Saturday:
Print out all the recipes for the week.
Click on the link provided and add all the groceries to your cart.
Look through the meal plan table at the ingredients provided in the cart and the presumed ingredients. If you do not have a pantry item, make sure to add it to your cart.
Add any other groceries to your online cart that you need for the week (cereal, bread, milk, etc).
Schedule a time to pick up your groceries or have them delivered.
Read through the recipes and the “Tips for Getting Ahead” to prepare for the week.
Sunday:
Make the dressing for the cobb salad in a mason jar and place in the refrigerator until tomorrow.
Cook the 2 chicken breasts and hard boil the eggs for the cobb salad and store in the refrigerator until tomorrow.
Cut up all the vegetables for tomorrow’s salad (I omitted the parsley from the grocery list though it is listed as an ingredient for the salad).
Follow directions to assemble Friday’s freezer meal in a freezer bag. Label and place in the freezer. Note: if you can’t find cube steak, tenderize the round steak.
Tuesday:
Cook all the ground beef (some is for tonight’s dinner and the rest is for Thursday’s Egg Roll in a Bowl). Store the meat for Thursday’s dinner in a labeled container in the refrigerator.
Thursday:
Get the freezer meal for tomorrow and load it into the crockpot and place in the refrigerator until the morning.
Peel and cube your potatoes for tomorrow's dinner. Store them in a bowl covered in water in the refrigerator until tomorrow. Make sure you have room in your fridge for this bowl, as well as the crockpot.
Set an alarm to remind yourself to start the crockpot in the morning.
